Belief

BELIEF- THE BASIS OF ACTION

Believing is seeing.

Martin Santos

Belief is an important word in the teachings of the wise, and it figures prominently in all religions.

In the Christians tradition, for example a certain kind of belief is necessary to experience salvation or re-birth; and the Buddah taught that accessing one’s beliefs is the first and most essential step in the way of Truth, for without noble belief, there can be no compassionate action.

Those who haven’t learned how to govern their beliefs have not yet understood the simplest elements of Truth.

Belief, as defined by the great spiritual leaders, is NOT belief in any particular school, philosophy, or religion but the “attitude of mind” that forges the basis of one’s life.

Jesus, especially taught that our experiences are a function of our belief:

It shall be done to you according to your belief.

Matthew 9:29

Head belief, or intellectual belief is not fundamental and causative but superficial and resulting, and it has no power in the molding of a person’s character.

Behind and beneath these head beliefs lie hidden, silent secret beliefs of our hearts. These beliefs mold and make our whole lives, and they’re what make people with the same theology vary so widely in their deeds.

Those who believe with their hearts in all things good with love and live in them, and those who believe in those things that are toxic and selfish will love and cling to them.

Remember that a belief is a feeling of certainty about what something means. We determine our feelings based on what we think a situation, circumstance, or relationship means to us personally.

You will continually suffer if you have an emotional reaction to everything that is said to you. True power is sitting back and observing everything with logic. If words control you that means everyone can control you. Breathe and allow things to pass.

Bruce Lee

Believe in the best and it shall be yours.

Believe you can, and you’re halfway there.

Theodore Roosevelt

The best is yet to come.
